Tobique Child & Family Supports the Well-being of Wolastoqiyik Neqotkuk
Tobique Child & Family Services Agency Inc. is located on the traditional unceded and unsurrendered territory of Wolastoqiyik Neqotkuk (Tobique First Nation). This territory is covered by the Treaties of Peace and Friendship, which the Wolastoqiyik (Maliseet) first signed with the British Crown in 1725. These treaties did not deal with the surrender of lands and resources but recognized the Wolastoqiyik’s title and established the rules for what was to be an ongoing relationship between nations.
Mission Statement: Tobique Child & Family Services Agency Inc. provides services to support the well-being of Wolastoqiyik Neqotkuk. Our culture, language, and teachings are at the centre of our prevention-based approach to delivering services for the well-being of our children, families and community.
